The 500 greatest albums of all time is a feature on the Rolling Stone web site, where visitors can read about and listen to songs that helped to shape modern music.
Our engineering lead, Amit, and I teamed up to create a user interface for the music list in React, and integrate it with WordPress. We connected it to the Apple Music API, so visitors could listen to songs from the list. And we used a finite state machine to manage interactions between the user, the API, and multiple players on the page.
The project was completed in a short time frame, going from prototype to launch in a few weeks.
